The Robert Bentley pledge
to take no campaign money:
I have not solicited, nor have I accepted any contribution from anyone in my 2009 campaign for Desert Hot Springs City Council. I pledge that I will not accept any contribution from anyone in my 2009 campaign for Desert Hot Springs City Council. I pledge to spend only less than $1000 of my own money.

The good people of my community are hurting. I am confident that you can find something better to do with your money than politics.

I can and will win on the issues. Other candidates need lots of money, I don’t. In 2007, running for Mayor, I got a higher percentage than everyone except Baker, Betts, Parks, and Sanchez; and they are not running. I spent about $700, while all the major candidates spent between $17,000 and $30,000.

I got a 5% higher vote percentage than Alex Bias for Mayor, a 25% higher vote percentage than Al Schmidt for Council (and he was elected), a 29% higher vote percentage than Terry Scheurer for Council, a 36% higher vote percentage than Hank Hohenstein for Council, a 39% higher vote percentage than Mary Stephens for Council, and a 48% higher vote percentage than Sharon Sandison for Council. I beat them all because of my message.

But I do need your help. Please help by:

First, vote Robert Bentley for Desert Hot Springs City Council. Please consider “bullet voting”. This means to vote for only one candidate. The reason that this is important is that I am the one lower taxes candidate, and using both of your votes dilutes your clear vote for lower taxes because your other vote will, to some extent, cancel out your vote for lower taxes. Think about it. I trust that you will do what you think is right.

Second, You can help by:
(1) Encouraging someone to vote Robert Bentley for DHS City Council.
(2) Make a call to friend who might be receptive and talk about Robert Bentley.
(3) Take someone to the polls to vote.
